Welcome to ViCEPHEC 2022!
HERE IS THE LINK TO THE CONFERENCE GATHERTOWN SPACE
Please can you ensure you have had a read through our code of conduct for the conference.
Digital Accessibility
The posters on Gather Town are not digitally accessible – however an alternative version can be found via the session abstract link in the programme which contain PDF versions of the posters prepared using digital accessibility good practices.
The talks will be presented with active close captions. Some speakers have prepared close captions such that they are optional on YouTube whereas some are embedded. All recordings can also be found via the programme. The slides corresponding to the talks will also be added to the website soon.
All presenters have been requested to engage with digital accessibility good practices which we have done our best to check – however, if there are elements of the posters or talks which still remain inaccessible or could be improved, please contact us.

How will the talks work?
Once in GatherTown please make your way to the main lecture theatre (arrows and signs are visible in the GatherTown space) in time for the session to start. Once in the lecture theatre the chair and presenters will broadcast to the whole room.
Your mic will be muted when in the lecture theatre, unless you are presenting.
Each speaker will be introduced by the chair, and their talk broadcast. In GatherTown there is a Q&A function, similar to TEAMS and Zoom, where you can post any questions you have.
After the talk the chair will run the Q&A, reading out questions for the presenter to answer live. If after the allotted time, there are still unanswered questions, the speaker can respond via text in the Q&A.
Recordings of talk are available via links in the programme for those that wish to view them in advance. Slides will also be made available soon.
How will the posters work?
There are three dedicated poster sessions included in the conference.
Posters are split into Session A (Tuesday) or Session B (Wednesday), this information can be found in the Programme . Presenters have been asked to spend at least half the session with their posters at these times. The Monday poster session is a general poster session where delegates can get a first look at all the posters, presenters are not required to be at their poster during this time.
Below you can find a brief YouTube video that shows how poster sessions work in GatherTown (for a different conference, but the basic principles still apply). As soon as GatherTown is open you can test this process out before the main poster sessions.
As shown in the video, when you are in GatherTown, you can stroll to the poster rooms and have a look at each poster. As you pass near to a poster, you will trigger the PREVIEW images of the poster to pop up. This allows you to see the general topic before entering the private space of each poster presenter.
Enter the private space (this is the zone in front of each poster) and you will be asked to engage with the poster (click on “X” to do this). A large version of your poster will pop up. You can drag it around, expand, and click on the pointer (these are buttons on the right-hand side once you have expanded your poster).
Anyone in the private space with you (including the presenter) will also see the poster and will be able to point, using the same controls, to ask questions. When in a private poster space, turn on your mic (and camera if you wish) and you will be able to converse with anyone else in the private poster space.
To exit the large poster, click on the x at the top right of your poster.
The IoP and RSC will be awarding prizes for posters, for more details please see the website.
